The Bottom Moose River in Upstate NY is an all around favorite among New England paddlers. Many boaters flock from all over the country to kayak, canoe, and even raft the various drops and technical rapids that the Moose has to offer.
It is a rare find to have this quality of Class IV and Class V whitewater so accessible from foot. It is that accessibility that makes the Moose River Festival held in October a favorite among spectators and photographers alike. Some of the main attractions on this Adirondack treasure are Fowlerville Falls, Agers Falls, and Crystal Falls among others. The Moose is not for the casual boater and should only be attempted by intermediate to advanced paddlers.
