Surform Rapid

The Bottom Moose River in Upstate New York

By , About.com Guide

This is one of the hairiest rapids on the Moose River. You wouldn't know it by looking at it. There are two channels through the Surform Rapid. The left side of this is extremely dangerous due to the large boulder at the bottom which poses a serious pinning threat. The more popular right hand channel is no cake walk either. It can be an extremely bumpy ride and flipping here can definitely cost you some skin.

Surform follows shortly after Agers Falls and is right before Powerline Rapids on the Bottom Moose River.
