Crystal Falls

Kayaking on the Bottom Moose River in Upstate New York

From George Sayour, About.com

Crystal Fall is one of the most famed rapids to kayak on the Bottom Moose River. It consists of a series of ledges, holes, and a powerful drop at the end. The more common line is a river-right route where you kayak over two ledges, a tricky left hand turn, and then an immediate right over the falls. The hero line involves a straight ahead approach down the river-left channel which includes a very intimidating boof and going over the same falls at the end.
