Definition: A canoe is a boat in which a person sits down on a seat with his or her legs on the floor underneath them and uses a single-bladed paddle to propel the boat through the water. Canoes are typically "open boats" in that everything in the boat is exposed to the environment.
Pronunciation: ka-new
Examples: We paddled our canoe from our campsite to the island.
