Definition: A dry top is a waterproof jacket worn by kayakers that has rubber gaskets that make a tight seal against the neck and wrists thereby keeping the water out of the inside of the jacket. The waist of the jacket usually has a tunnel where the sprayskirt attaches.
Examples: Wearing a dry top is one of the best ways to keep water out of a kayak while surfing waves.
