Its that time of year again! From December of the previous year to January of the next, it is a time when people reflect on the past and look to the future. There is a tradition we all laughingly follow of setting "resolutions" in January that are all but forgotten in February.
If you've been a reader of this site for any amount of time, you know that I challenge all of you to set paddling resolutions, or call them goals, each year. I'm a firm believe to have goals in all aspects that are important to a person's life. If you're reading this post, paddling of canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards is presumably an important activity in your life. Have you ever set goals for yourselves in these sports?
I know what some of you are thinking. If you set goals in these areas they will somehow be less fun. The whole reason you paddle is to get away from the rat race. Setting 2013 paddling goals would bring that aspect of corporatism into your quiet place. Well, I hear that concern, and what I will say is that the goals I'm talking about aren't what you might think. Check it out to learn more.
