Cold weather always seems to sneak up on us doesn't it? I mean, the Northeast has already had a Noreaster. A Noreaster at the beginning of November! And just like that the paddling season is over for much of the country.
While we can lament that we won't be out on the water for a some months to come, its our gear that really pays the price. Think about it. Did you really store it properly? Or is it sitting in a pile in your basement or garage in the same condition as it was from your last trip? Before long stuff and as winter trudges on, more and more stuff will get piled onto it until is barely recognizable under the heap of clutter.
Alright, I might be projecting the status of my own garage a bit now, but for many of you out there this definitely hits close to home. So, why not save yourself some springtime woes and use this checklist to inspect and then store your kayaking gear.
