If temperatures haven't begun to dip in your neck of the woods you can be sure they soon will. Most people will be lucky to get another canoe or kayak trip in this year. It just sort of works out that way. This is unfortunate, however, as October can be one of the prettiest and quietest months of the year to paddle.
This is where the intersection of two great activities can actually converge as the Fall months are also great for camping. So, now's as good a time as any to plan an overnight camping and canoeing / kayaking trip as your last big hurrah on the water before it is too cold to get out their and paddle.
