As I do during all of "holiday weekends," you'll recall that I reminded my readers to be safe this 4th of July weekend.
A canoeist on Belwood Lake chose not to heed my advice. Well, in his defense Belwood Lake is in Canada and as such the 4th of July festivities probably don't apply up there. And of course I never mentioned not to canoe drunk in my warnings.
At any rate marine patrol officers said the man failed an "alcohol screening test" and he is a "vessel operator." He will be appearing in court on July 26 for "operating a vessel under while impaired."
Ooof... One can't help but wonder what he was really doing to have gotten "pulled over" in the first place.
I guess I should add something about this in my "rules of the road" piece.
Please be safe out there!

Yeah, I’m curious what he was doing also. Maybe he was weaving and bobbing, lol
