Last 4th of July one reader took issue with my making a connection between celebrating our freedoms and kayaking. While few people see any relationship at all with holidays like the 4th of July and activities like Canoeing and Kayaking, I for one find them to be hugely related.
Independence Day is a holiday to remember when our founders stood up to secure freedom for themselves, their families, and future generations
It is those very freedoms that allow us to recreate, travel freely, and give us the economic ability to make the purchases that we desire. All of which enable us to take part in hobbies and activities such as kayaking and canoeing which for many of us actually help define who we are as people.
