Properly Store Your Canoe and Kayak Gear

Saturday October 3, 2009

As this year's paddling season comes to a close, many people won't be using their canoe, kayak, and associated gear for the next few months.

This is how it usually goes.  We go out on a trip, not realizing it is our last for a while and therefore we don't properly organize and store our equipment.  Then, months later, we have a last minute idea to start paddling again only to realize that our stuff is buried, missing, or damaged.

So, this year, as you realize your paddling days are over until 2010 take some time to properly store your canoe and kayak gear.  When spring hits, you'll be glad you did.

Disclaimer:  This post in no way intends to imply that you should stop paddling at this time.  It is merely a reminder that when you do, you need to put things away correctly.   By all means paddle til the water freezes!
