American Whitewater Hosts a YouTube Contest
American Whitewater has been on the front lines of river preservation for over 50 years! That's right paddlers, more than Five-O years. Much of what we paddlers, whitewater or otherwise, enjoy today is due to the efforts of this fabulous organization. Well, AW is once again giving us, the boaters who enjoy their labors, a chance to speak. This time it is in the format of an online video competition.
All you have to do is make a video highlighting your favorite American Whitewater project. What did you say? You don't know if you have one? I'll bet you do. All you have to do is look at a list of the rivers that they have preserved and you'll realize how indebted we all are to them. Soooo, go to the American Whitewater site to take a look at the contest rules and some examples. Or simply go to Youtube and type in American Whitewater and you'll see how others have responded.
The contest deadline is June 15, 2008 and the winning video will be showcased at this fall's Gauley River Festival. Maybe you'll get to see yours on the big screen!
