It's funny how things happen. I just finished a piece on The Joys of Paddling Festivals and almost as if on cue, I get an email from American Whitewater notifying me of the North Alabama Whitewater Festival. NAWFest 2008 will be held Friday, March 7th to Sunday, March 9th.

This is one festival you don't want to miss. Have you ever heard of a "Huckfest, "Boatercross, "Throwdown," and "Big Trick Competition?" If you know what I'm talking about I'm sure you're packing your bags for this one already. If you haven't heard of these terms, think of boats flying in the air, huge drops, big water, and amazing tricks. Whether you are a hard core paddler and want to take part in the water sports or you just like to watch, this event is for you. Of course there will be plenty of live music, games, and spectator events for the whole family to enjoy. And, oh yeah, all of the proceeds from NawFest will benefit American Whitewater.
